Military courts shall be established in accordance with the law to investigate crimes committed by members of the Army, Gendarmerie, Police, and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in connection with their special military or security duties. However, their ordinary crimes or crimes committed while serving as officials of the Ministry of Justice shall be tried by general courts. The Military Prosecutor’s Office and the military courts are part of the country’s judiciary and are subject to the same principles related to this branch of power.
